Week 5 of the NFL season has arrived. On Thursday, the Indianapolis Colts outlasted the Denver Broncos in a 12-9 overtime victory. Both teams labored without a touchdown in the game -- much to the dismay of fans in attendance.
In the early slate, the New York Giants defeated the Green Bay Packers in London, England. Giants star Saquon Barkley had 106 total yards and a touchdown in the 27-22 victory.
Week 5 also featured a lot of divisional matchups. Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady remained undefeated against the Atlanta Falcons. The Jacksonville Jaguars outlasted the Houston Texans.
Meanwhile, Buffalo Bills receiver Gabe Davis and New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson had career days in the early slate.
Week 5 concludes with two primetime matchups. The Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens renew their AFC North rivalry on Sunday evening.The Las Vegas Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs conclude Week 5 action on Monday Night Football.

Indianapolis Colts 12, Denver Broncos 9
Briefly:The Colts pulled out an ugly win against the Broncos.Colts cornerback Stephon Gilmore made two big plays down the stretch.Gilmore intercepted Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson in the fourth quarter and had the game-winning pass breakup in overtime.
One highlight to know:Colts kicker Chase McLaughlin nailed a game-winning, 48-yard field goal in overtime.
Next up: The Colts face the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 6. The Broncos face the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night Football.
New York Giants 27,Green Bay Packers 22
Briefly: The Giants overcame a 10-point halftime deficit to outlast the Packers in London. The Packers were held in check with just two points inthe second half. Giants defensive coordinator Wink Martindale flustered Aaron Rodgers as the Packers were 4-for-10 on third downs. Giants star Saquon Barkley had 70 rushing yards including the go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter.
One highlight to know: The Giants tight end Daniel Bellinger scored a two-yard rushing touchdown on a double reverse just before halftime.
Next up: The Giants host the Baltimore Ravens in Week 6. The Packers return home to play the New York Jets.
Buffalo Bills 38, Pittsburgh Steelers 3
Briefly:The Bills improved to 3-1 behind a career day from receiver Gabe Davis. The talented speedster hauled in three catches for 171 yards and two touchdowns. Bills quarterback Josh Allen turned in another 400-yard performance as Steelers rookie Kenny Pickett completed 34 of 52 passes for 327 yards in his first NFL start.
One highlight to know:Bills receiver Gabe Davis hauled in a 98-yard touchdown on the third play from scrimmage.
Next up: The Bills play the Kansas City Chiefs in a rematch of their AFC Divisional postseason classic. The Steelers will face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Los Angeles Chargers 30, Cleveland Browns 28
Briefly:Austin Ekeler recorded 199 total yards and two touchdowns to propel the Chargers to victory. Ekeler averaged 10.8 yards per carry and stamped his dazzling performance with a 71-yard run. The Browns had a chance late, but kicker Cade York missed a go-ahead 54-yard field goal attempt.
One highlight to know:Chargers star Austin Ekeler scored a 22-yard touchdown to give the Los Angeles a third-quarter lead.
Next up: The Chargers face the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football. The Browns host the New England Patriots at home.
Minnesota Vikings 29, Chicago Bears 22
Briefly:The Vikings defeated their NFC North rival en route to a third consecutive victory. Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson hauled in 12 receptions for 154 yards and set a franchise record in the process. The Bears rebounded from a 11-point halftime deficit but fell short after a late fumble in the fourth quarter.
One highlight to know: Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins scored a go-ahead, 1-yard touchdown to propel Minnesota to their fourth win.
Next up: The Vikings play the Miami Dolphins in Week 6. The Bears host the Washington Commanders on Thursday Night Football.
Houston Texans 13,Jacksonville Jaguars 6
Briefly: The Texans shut down the Jaguars in the second half en route to their first victory of the season. Texans rookie Dameon Pierce accounted for 113 yards and a late fourth-quarter touchdown. Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence completed 25 of 47 passes for 286 yards and two interceptions in defeat.
One highlight to know:Dameon Pierce breaks multiple tackles as he rumbles for 20 yards in the fourth quarter.
Next up: The Texans have a bye week.The Jaguars will host the Indianapolis Colts in Week 6.
New England Patriots 29, Detroit Lions 0
Briefly: The Patriots defense put on a clinic against the NFL's top scoring unit. The Lions mustered just 312 yards of total offense. The Patriots owned the time of possession as rookie quarterback Bailey Zappe earned his first NFL victory. He had help from running back Rhamondre Stevenson, who erupted for 161 rushing yards.
One highlight to know:Patriots receiver Jakobi Meyers hauled in a 24-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. He finished the game with seven catches for 111 yards.
Next up: The Lions have abye week. The Patriots travel to play the Cleveland Browns in Week 6.
New Orleans Saints 39, Seattle Seahawks 32
Briefly: Andy Dalton started at quarterback for the injured Jameis Winston, but it was Taysom Hill who led the New Orleans Saints to victory with four of the team’s touchdowns. Geno Smith threw for 268 yards and three touchdowns, but it wasn’t enough for the Seattle Seahawks to get their first back-to-back wins of the season.
One highlight to know: Hill scored the winning touchdown of the day, a 60-yard dash from the Wildcat formation.
Next up: The Saints host the Cincinnati Bengals while the Seahawks host the Arizona Cardinals.
New York Jets 40, Miami Dolphins 17
Briefly: The Miami Dolphins turned to their third-string quarterback, Skylar Thompson, after Teddy Bridgewater entered concussion protocol when he was hit in the first quarter. The New York Jets took home the victory with a stellar day from rookie running back Breece Hall who was the team’s leading rusher and receiver with 197 combined yards and a touchdown.
One highlight to know: The Jets had five rushing touchdowns on the day, including Hall’s score. In the fourth quarter, he scrambled to the right and flipped over the defensive line to put the exclamation point on his day.
Next up: The Dolphins return home to face the Minnesota Vikings. Riding a two-game winning streak, the Jets travel to play the Green Bay Packers, who will be recovering from their second loss of the season and jet lag from flying from London.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers 21, Atlanta Falcons 15
Briefly: The Atlanta Falcons kept the Tampa Bay Buccaneers scoreless if only for the first quarter. The Tampa Bay defense sacked Marcus Mariota five times and Tom Brady wound up with 351 yards and a touchdown as they got their first win in three games.
One highlight to know: In the second quarter, Brady went deep to Mike Evans, who stretched out for the 25-yard reception that took the Buccaneers into the red zone and led to their first score of the day. Despite being hurt on the play, Evans gave his team a major momentum shift.
Next up: The Falcons host the San Francisco 49ers while the Buccaneers travel north to face the Pittsburgh Steelers, who will be hungry to get their first win since Week 1.
Tennessee Titans 21,Washington Commanders 17
Briefly: Derrick Henry’s two touchdown’s propelled the Tennessee Titans to their third-straight win while the Washington Commanders, despite a valiant effort, haven’t won since Week 1.
One highlight to know:David Long Jr. sealed the win for the Titans when he intercepted Carson Wentz in the end zone.
Next up: The Titans rest up on their bye week while the Commanders have a quick turnaround to face the Chicago Bears on Thursday night.
San Francisco 49ers 37,Carolina Panthers 15
Briefly: Jimmy Garappolo continues to showcase his leadership skills as he went 18-of-30 for 253 yards and two touchdowns in the San Francisco 49ers victory. In contrast, Carolina Panthers quarterback Baker Mayfield threw a pick and was sacked six times while Christian McCaffrey was held to 54 yards on the ground.
One highlight to know: One of the six sacks put the nail in the coffin for the Panthers. With four minutes left in the game and being down 30-15, Mayfield & Co. decided to go for it on 4th and 10 on their own 10 yard line. The pocket collapsed around the quarterback and he couldn't scramble away from Drake Jackson.
Next up: The 49ers take their two-game win streak east to play the Atlanta Falcons and the Panthers head west to take on the Los Angeles Rams.
Dallas Cowboys 22,Los Angeles Rams 10
Briefly: In what was essentially a home-away-from-home game, the Dallas Cowboys defense had five sacks and six tackles for a loss as they beat the Los Angeles Rams. They've held five straight opponentsto 20 points or less, something that America's Team hasn't done since 1972. The Rams' only glimmer of hope was fromCooper Kupp who had a 75-yard touchdown from Matthew Stafford in the second quarter, but it was Los Angeles' last score of the day.
One highlight to know: Micah Parsons finished the day with two sacks and five total tackles despite suffering a groin injury in the third quarter. His take down of Matthew Stafford resulted in a fumble with 1:31 left in the game, giving Dallas the opportunity to finish in victory formation.
Next up: The Cowboys take their winning ways to face the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles in prime time. The Rams will stay at SoFi Stadium and likely have a bit more fan support when they take on the Carolina Panthers, who are also riding a two-game losing streak.
Philadelphia Eagles 20,Arizona Cardinals 17
Briefly: In perhaps their toughest matchup yet, the Philadelphia Eagles remain undefeated. Jalen Hurts scored two rushing touchdowns in the first half to give them early momentum. He and Kyler Murray had comparable passing stats — 26-of-36 for 239 yards and 28-of-42 for 250 yards, one touchdown, one interception. The Eagleswere saved from going into overtime when Arizona Cardinals kicker Matt Ammendola sent a 43-yard field goal wide right.
One highlight to know: After the game, J.J. Watt took a long moment to share words and a hug with Jalen Hurts. Zach Ertz waited his turn to do the same. Hurts, who was once benched in college and whose second-round draft selection was labeled a "shock," has now earned the respect of players with eight Pro Bowls between them.
Next up: The Eagles travel west to take on the red-hot Dallas Cowboys who, although they lost Week 1, have been undefeated since Cooper Rush took over. The Cardinals have another battle of the birds as they head north to face the Seattle Seahawks.
Baltimore Ravens 19, Cincinnati Bengals 17
Briefly: The Baltimore Ravens took home the AFC North win in a game that was close the entire time. Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow went toe-to-toe, having stat lines of 19-of-32 for 174 yards and 24-of-35 for 217 yards respectively and a passing touchdown and interception each. The pick by Patrick Queen stunted the Bengals' momentum in the third quarter, but Burrow's rushing touchdown put them up late. The Ravens relied on Justin Tucker to kick the game-winning field goal.
One highlight to know: Justin Tucker showed why he's the highest-paid kicker in the NFL, effortlessly making a 43-yard field goal to end the game.
Next up: The Ravens take on the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium while the Bengals travel to take on the New Orleans Saints.
Kansas City Chiefs 30, Las Vegas Raiders 29
Briefly: The Kansas City Chiefs came back from a 17-0 deficit to beat the Las Vegas Raiders and maintain their AFC West crown. Four touchdowns from Travis Kelce for the Chiefs and a late missed two-point conversion by the Raiders were the deciding factors.
One highlight to know:Kelce's third touchdown of the night came in the third quarter and put the Chiefs ahead for good. It was an eight-yard pass that Patrick Mahomes threw across his body, allowing the tight end to rumble into the end zone.
Next up: The Chiefs stay at Arrowhead Stadium to host the Buffalo Bills while the Raiders seek to recover during their bye week.
