Strangers donate $120K to help Upstate NY mother move away from racism next door: For years, Amanda David’s next-door neighbor has encroached on her property and spewed racial slurs at her and her family, turning a peaceful plot in the Finger Lakes into a place where she no longer feels at home. But hundreds of strangers have stepped up, donating thousands of dollars to help the single, Black mother find a better place to live. “It’s so incredible, the outpouring of support‚” she said. “It’s really giving me hope.”

These 12 food vendors have been at the NYS Fair for 25 years or longer. Which is the oldest? For an event steeped in a long tradition, it’s perfectly reasonable question: Who (or what) is the oldest food vendor at the New York State Fair? That hasn’t always been easy to answer. In some cases it’s because stands have changed names or locations, moved on to new generations of owners or created whole new menu options. We found 12 vendors who have been serving food at the fair for at least 25 years — including one that traces its roots back to the 1939 fair.

SU basketball hopes to tap into a more receptive, robust European market: Petar Majstorovic is the latest European player to commit to Syracuse’s men’s basketball program. Orange coaches are trying to ensure he’s not the last. Analyst Fran Fraschilla said more elite basketball players from Europe are considering college basketball than ever before.
