Tier List Ranking Explanation

	Best characters that deal the highest damage and/or have the highest utility and can generally clear most stages in the main quest. Getting at least two of these characters will give you a headstart in progressing through the campaign.
	Characters that offer an extremely high degree of utility, although may not necessarily deal a lot of damage and may be more situational than SS-tier characters. They're not as essential to reroll for as SS-tier characters either, but having them around will make your party stronger.
	A-tier characters are those with average damage potential or can offer support and synergize with other characters. If you don't get these characters, you wouldn't need to reroll but it would still be nice to have them.
	B-tier characters are either too situational or non-essential to consider rerolling for. Though they are still valuable if you somehow get them, you can rest easy not having them when you're starting.

Tier Placements Explained

SS Tier Characters

Character	Tier Placement Reasoning
Florence	• One of the best attackers in the game for PvE, Florence is capable of inflicting massive critical damage on multiple opponents. • Though it's tougher to level her up compared to Cordie (whose copies can be obtained for free from the Shop), Florence ultimately does more damage than Cordie and is a better attacker in the late game.
Cordie	• Cordie is the second-best Attacker you can get your hands on, especially if you're an F2P player. She can deal massive damage, outspeed most opponents in the game, and inflict a devastating DEF debuff once she gets her unique weapon. • Leveling her up is easy because players can get copies of her through the shop with Space-Time coins instead of having to pull from invocation banners.
Merlyn	• Her skill 'Apprentice Wanted!' increases the CRIT chance of the ally next to her in the formation, making her a great buffer to pair with Florence (whose active skill 'Scarlet Shimmer' increases with every critical hit she makes) and even Cordie. • She also has extra utility in the form of her skill, 'Vine Stream,' which dispels buffs her enemies have received.

S Tier Characters

Character	Tier Placement Reasoning
Amleth	• A tanky witch that will probably be the last one standing in your party because of her ability to revive herself. • Amleth's special in that her ATK scales with how much damage she takes. If her passive 'Fulfiller of Oaths' kicks in and leaves her standing at 1 HP, she'll have a massive power boost that could be enough to finish the fight for you.
Soltina	• Soltina is another tanky witch, but her utility lies in her skills - she can inflict Sleep and Faint debuffs on her enemies, leaving them open to damage from your main attacker.
Nina	• A tanky witch who is also very hard to hit and can hurl back debuffs at enemies. Not essential, but it would be nice if you get her.
Primavera	• A fast attacker who can keep her enemies from getting buffs from their allies. Gets ATK buffs based on how many of her allies are still alive, as well as a passive skill. • She also has good ATK and SPD buffs for your entire party.
Mimi	• Though Mimi's a secondary attacker who works similarly to Florence (instead of increased attacks from critical hits, Mimi's attacks increase each time she defeats someone), her real utility is her ability to inflict Resonance on enemies who have the highest and lowest DEF stats. It deals 50% of the damage one target takes to another target. This means your party can attack the enemy with the lowest DEF and the enemy with the highest defense will also take 50% of that damage.

A Tier Characters

Character	Tier Placement Reasoning
Fenrir	• Fenrir's a great secondary healer, and she can also lower skill cooldowns. • It would be nice to have Fenrir, though if you already have Mertilier, you can hold back until later on in the game to get her.
Dian	• Dian is great because of the EVD buffs she can give to your main attacker, though she's not too vital of a unit to have until perhaps the mid-game when evading devastating attacks becomes more and more important.
Rean	• Rean is a good damage dealer, though she requires a bit of setup and RNG to work correctly. Better to focus on getting other attackers for now.
Mertillier	• Mertillier's skill, 'Maintenance' not only decreases the skill cooldown of the witch with the highest ATK but also boosts that character's ATK stat by 65%.

B Tier Characters

Character	Tier Placement Reasoning
Lunalynn	• Lunalynn is also great because of her Poison-related abilities and her ability to inflict the Silence debuff. But just like Natasha, it's tough to get duplicates and awaken her if you're an F2P player.
Natasha	• Natasha is a very powerful witch with high DPS. The problem with her, however, is it's tough to level her up because of her Soul type (Radiance).
Olivia	• Gives great party-wide ATK, DEF, and Shield buffs for your party, making her a good all-around buffer. • However, she needs to have good equipment because of the effectiveness of her buffs scale with her own ATK stat.
Hathor	• Hathor can debuff your enemies' ATK stats, which could save you from attacks that could otherwise be fatal. But you won't need her as much up until the mid or late game.
Tropon	• Tropon can deal a lot of damage, but it takes time for her skills to get revved up and do that. Fights don't last very long in MementoMori's PvE modes (except Guild Raid) so it's not essential to get her when you're just starting out.
Amour	• Amour works similarly to Amleth in that they both revive themselves after receiving fatal attacks, though the way they calculate how much damage they deal in retaliation is different. Amour dishes out 10% of the damage she had received within 20 turns to the enemy unlucky enough to be standing directly in front of her. • Her other, potentially more useful ability however, is her skill 'Embrace of Thorns,' which inflicts the Blight debuff. Those afflicted with Blight cannot be healed while the debuff is active.
Freesia	• Freesia is one of the best healers in the game, though you may like her more for her EVD and DEF buffs. She's not essential to have, but she would be a good addition to your team if you get her and need her EVD buffs.
Sabrina	• Sabrina's nice because of her SPD debuffs, but you're better off getting other attackers than her.
Moddey	• Moddey would be a good unit if battles in PvE didn't end so quickly. Her ATK increases over time, she can inflict both Poson and Blight on her enemies, and heal herself. But before all these come into effect, she and her party would probably be defeated already. Not an essential to have when you're just starting the game.
